I’m still on my quest to find a new job. I’ve applied with numerous different companies but have yet to hear the good news of “You’re Hired!”. I worked for one day at a pet supply place, I knew within the first 10 minutes that the place just wasn’t for me, but I made it a point to work through the rest of the day based on my knowledge on the employee situation for the day. I didn’t enjoy working in such a cramped and filthy environment. I love all animals but I have wee-wee pads at home, I’m not cleaning up your dogs piss because you insist on walking around the store with them - sorry for ya!
I was also told that my visual appearance was going to have to change. I can understand tattoo’s being an issue but don’t tell me that I’m going to have to wear a sweatshirt under an already heavy tshirt in the middle of summer because the ink on my arms can’t be visible. I also am someone who likes to experiment with hair color and while I’ll never throw fire-engine red and black on my hair, don’t tell me my roots need to be dyed because there’s a noticeable difference. I know I need color in my hair, I can’t afford the beauty-upkeep right now, of course there’s going to be a color difference!
So yea, this place didn’t go over too smoothly.
Since then I’ve had an interview with a local company down here looking for an Internet Website Manager. The job title includes both web design and basic in-house networking skills - easy enough for me! The interview went very well, unfortunately they’re still going through applications so I’m waiting, almost too patiently, on word from them. I’d love to hear “You got the job!” as soon as possible but I know that it’s important to find the right person for the job.
A plus? I did land a job with a contract company. I’m actually filling out the paperwork on that now. I’m unsure of how much money I’m going to be making with them but based on what I’ve read about their company, and the websites that I’ve seen - I’m confident that I’ll at least be able to bring in the money I need in order to pay the bills.
I’m sure that no matter what happens, I’ll be able to get everything I need in order to make ends meet. It’s just proving to be harder and harder on me right now.
